Laguna del Diamante

PROGRAM
In this full road-trip day in 4×4 to the magical Laguna del Diamante, we will visit the natural reserve surrounded by volcanic landscapes and wide range of colors in the heart of the Andes at 3.200m/10.500ft, driving till 3.700m/1214ft. In this least-known excursion, we will admire the crystalline waters where the Cerro Maipo, 5.323m/17.463ft, is reflecting, known as the snowcapped volcano. The Diamante is located 3 hours South of Mendoza.
• 07:30AM – departure to the South of Mendoza, San Carlos department
• 9AM – Coffee break at Pareditas last town before old Route 40
• 10:30AM – Briefing at Rangers park office, beginning of Ascent to Laguna del Diamante
• 1:30PM – Small hike to Henri Guillaumet forced landing point
• 2:15PM – Picnic on the lake (if weather permits)
• 3:30PM – Descent and drive back to Mendoza
• 7PM – Drop off Mendoza downtown hotels

RECOMMENDED
Long pants + comfortable shoes (mandatory), coats and/or wind break, small backpack, sunscreen, hat and sun glasses. In winter, also gloves and scarf. Good camera and zoom for wildlife.
